"Ernest Carriere (1858-1908) And Christofle, Vase "
Ovoid-shaped silvered copper vase with shouldered and hemmed concave neck, decorations in relief of Japanese carp surfing on stylized waves, two friezes of crustaceans and shells in slight relief adorn the base of the neck, signed Ernest-Carrière on the side and signature Christofle under the base. Model created in 1894 and exhibited at the Salon des Beauts Arts in 1895 where he was a precursor of Art Nouveau.
