"Table Planter In Blackened Wood, Napoleon III Period - Nineteenth"
Planter in turbulent shape in ebonized wood, mother-of-pearl inlays and chiseled ornaments in gilded brass. This sublime Napoleon III planter has two moving faces and two rounded sides. Its soft shapes highlight numerous mother-of-pearl and brass inlays in the shape of a stylized cross. These patterns with iridescent reflections are framed with inlaid brass nets and strips affixed to all the angles of this refined object. Above, an openwork brass gallery follows its curved shapes. On each side, an elegant brass handle magnifies the whole. In the lower part, a contour in relief underlined by a brass rod surmounts four ball feet also in brass. This Napoleon III planter has an inner tank in zinc lacquered soft green and black on the outside. Richly ornamented and in perfect condition thanks to a restoration in the rules of the art, this unique planter will delight lovers of exceptional objects.
