"Rare Chest Of Drawers In Solid Amaranth, Louis XVI Period - XVIIIth"
This chest of drawers from the Nantes region of the 18th century, all in solid amaranth, is composed on the front of three drawers with a recess in the center, of the same size. Each drawer has two brass pull handles, the inner plate of which is finely chiselled representing pastoral scenes depicting children having fun with animals. In the center of each drawer we find a chiseled brass entry with original lock and its adjusted key, all in perfect working order. On each side, this piece of furniture has projecting legs, half-round, furnished with four fixed grooves. They end with a spindle-turned part. The sides of this chest of drawers are made up of a small panel in solid amaranth with horizontal wire in the upper part and a larger vertical wire panel in the lower part. The rear legs, meanwhile, consist of two grooves and end like the front. The top of this exceptional chest of drawers is made of well-joined solid amaranth and a groove around its periphery. The angles are rounded and a recess in the center brings singularity to this unique piece of furniture. This 18th century Louis XVI chest of drawers is authentic, with no added elements except the keys. Its quality and the rarity of its rot-proof solid wood usually used only as veneer make it a remarkable piece of furniture with deep nuances with its Wood top and not in marble as was usual at the time.
