"Travel Writing Case In Walnut - Late Nineteenth"
Lovely travel case in Walnut veneer, embellished on its top with concave brass angles, as well as a recessed plate bearing the initials "G.E.C". The lock in working order with its key, both original, has an entrance with the same cutout as the cover plate. Brass reinforcements at the corners underline the lower part. In the open and service position, this writing desk displays an inclined plane covered in dark green leather enhanced with a golden vignette, a cold stamp and angles: its surround is also in Walnut. The upper area of this interior is made up of compartments, with a curved and removable part in the center for storing pencils. In the lower zone, two locking systems make it possible to open the reserve located under the inclined plane. Note that a second identical cover is present in the upper part, these two compartments being made of Mahogany veneer.
Object of collection and decoration, this travel case will delight lovers of historical articles, we will enjoy imagining the correspondences of which it was the witness and the privileged accessory.
