"Small Spice Cabinet From Pondicherry - Late 19th Century"
Small Spice Cabinet in Teak and Solid Rosewood. This magnificent century-old furniture was made by an Indian cabinetmaker in the tradition and particular style of furniture from the region of Pondicherry, a former French trading post in India. This piece of furniture in a modernized Louis XIV spirit has two narrow doors with a frame and crosspiece in Teak, as well as molded Rosewood panels with a flower bed. The upper part is fitted with asymmetrically shaped panes surmounted by a cornice. The sides benefit from four solid Teak flower bed panels. The interior is made up of three adjustable mahogany shelves on a rack and on cleats. We will appreciate the Personality that emanates from this Spice Cabinet, having benefited from careful work. Its Modest dimensions combined with an Original interior design make this Property an Ideal Storage Unit.
