"Important Orientalist Sculpture 107cm Polychrome Terracotta "
Important Orientalist Sculpture (the largest model, 107cm) in Polychrome Terracotta entitled on the terrace "La Fille du Soudan", also called carrier / water carrier. Work from the end of the 19th century, refined, real jewels in enamelled copper. Artist's monogram "KL", trademark "URIELA Cologne" "registered" and model number on the back (see images). Rare and large in size, we have only found one identical piece of 107cm, recently sold for €6880 at Million Associés (French auction house), see photo. These Orientalist and Africanist sculptures were very popular with the bourgeois during the Napoleon III era at the end of the 19th century.
