Model 1831 infantry sword with 26 strand molded brass wrist. XIX°. Double-edged blade and median ridge ending in a carp's tongue. Blade bearing on the heel an illegible marking above the word "PARIS". Blade with "R in a circle" hallmarks, as on the lower border of the quillon. Bull-calf quillon at the ends with "starry S" punches (Schûtz) controller and reviser at Châtellerault and a "G" punch under the lower border of the quillon.
