2 watercolours, pavilion project for the Universal Exhibition, one of which is signed and dated 1891. Framed under glass. On sight: 33.5cmx 26.5cm and 33.5cmx 25.5cm. Overall: 44cmx 55cm. Ballu Albert (1849-1939), French architect, 1st Prix de Rome at the age of 23. He spent most of his career in Algeria. Diocesan architect of Oran and Algiers then chief architect of the Historic Monuments of Algeria. On his return to France, he restored many buildings (tower and town hall of La Rochelle, churches of Esnandes and Chadenac, in Corsica ...... cathedral of Dol etc) He also built the courthouse of Charleroi in Belgium, that of Bucharest and the museum of Buenos-Ares.
