"Winegrower: Wrought Iron Hallmarked Velte, Engraved, Late 19th C: Rare Object"
Rather rare object, this French wrought iron measure, (barrel or barrel gauge), 1m.31, square section, forged ring at the top, bearing 2 hallmarks from the measurement service, and a double name marked (Roland, Dozolm ?), an iron slider can freely traverse the ruler. Datable from the end of the 19th century, it has two different graduations, from 1 to 100 and from 4 to 70, depending on the direction marked by the tab. To understand the graduations, angular measurements which are not equidistant, refer to the interesting article: http://forezhistoire.free.fr/images/Therrat-VDF-89-90.pdf, specialized in the Velts, which explains the difficulty of angular measurements. Thank you, Mr. Therrat;Craft object, technical object, primitive object, rare.
