"Secretary `boulle` Napoleon III XIXth"
"Boulle" secretaire, NAPOLEON III period, inlaid with red tortoiseshell and brass on blackened natural wood. White marble top surrounded by a chiseled and gilded bronze molding. It opens with a drawer in the upper part, a flap with a central decoration of a trophy of arms (torch, quiver) and foliage scrolls. The flap reveals an interior in rosewood veneer composed of 2 maple compartments and 3 drawers surrounded by rosewood with small bronze handles. It is covered with a black leather with golden sticker which has been changed. It rests on 4 "spinning top" feet ringed in bronze. Rich bronze ornamentation: chiseled moldings, fillets, falls, Louis XVI style keyholes...
Period: Mid-19th century
Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop with removal, cleaning and refitting of the bronzes. Buffer varnish finish. Keys and locks in working order.
