"Inlaid Pedestal Table, In Walnut And Light Wood - 2nd Part Of The Nineteenth"
Pedestal Table with Rectangular Top in Walnut Veneer and Cutaway Corners. This top offers Pretty Sorrento Marquetry, in Light and Amaranth Woods. In particular, a Man in profile is represented in the center wearing a Plant Crown. This character is encircled by a frieze in various shades. On either side, two Eagles with outstretched wings, placed on pedestals in Palmettes and Leaf Scrolls, complete this Table. The scene is doubly framed by uninterrupted suites of geometric patterns. The edges of this top are also inlaid. The belt, set back, is in Walnut Veneer arranged Vertically, and it is embellished with two Filets of Lemon Tree. This Table rests on a Generously Turned and Molded Central Shaft, finished with four Cut-out Feet. Designed in the Restoration style, they are largely offset, thus guaranteeing Perfect Stability of the whole. Also note their composition in solid Walnut, where the congeners of this piece of furniture are more commonly provided with Veneer feet. We will choose this Pedestal Table rather than another, in particular for the Finesse and Quality of its Marquetry, as well as for its Diverse and Harmonious shades.
