"Lectern In Solid Walnut - 1940s"
Small solid walnut reading desk composed of a top and a height-adjustable column and designed in 1940. The whole rests on a rectangular base, molded with a second. Note that the design of this base, with a large footprint, offers perfect stability to the whole. On this base is established a ribbed barrel, of rectangular section, enclosing a central tube, chromed and cylindrical, benefiting from a sliding axis allowing the adjustment in height of this atypical piece of furniture. The reading support is supported by a metal frame and has the particularity of being adjustable in its degree of inclination thanks to a clamping lever located at its bottom. This tabletop with four cut sides is defined by an entourage in strips 4 cm thick and is embellished in its center with a panel made of pretty solid walnut wood, called "deployed". There is a thin brass rod on the front and back of this adjustable table, allowing you to hold a book or other manuscript there. Unique and adaptable, this small lectern can retain its original function as a writing desk or desk, particularly useful if the work is voluminous or precious and if it cannot be held by hand. This tilting table can also be used as a decorative object bringing uniqueness and personality to your interior.
