PORTRAIT OF A SHIP Original pencil drawing by Charles Marie Léon CHAMBEYRON (Anse 1827 – Nice 1891) He joined the Navy in 1843, became 1st class Midshipman in 1845, Ensign in 1849, Lieutenant in 1856 (port Brest) , Commander in 1868 (port Lorient) Captain in 1884.
