Pupil of Charles-François DAUBIGNY from 1855, the pictorial style of DELPY will be strongly influenced by the master of the Barbizon school.
DELPY travels regularly with the DAUBIGNY family during his apprenticeship, meets COROT who encourages him. From 1870, he worked mainly in La Ville D'Avray and Auvers-sur-Oise. He befriends Camille PISSARRO and Paul CÉZANNE.
He exhibited at the Salon on numerous occasions, receiving several awards. In 1889, he received an honorable mention at the Universal Exhibition.
The Parisian gallery owner Georges PETIT organizes several individual exhibitions for him.
His works are present in museums all over the world: Phoenix art museum, Louviers museum, Béziers museum...
He obviously benefits from important quotations, up to 30,000 euros in public sales, regularly between 10,000 and 15 000 euros for his best subjects.
