"Small Lady's Desk, In Amaranth And Violet Wood, Louis XV Period - XVIIIth"
Small Bureau Plat de Dame, Louis XV period, in marquetry and multiple woods. The top is embellished with a generous Decor in Violet Wood and Light Wood, and with floral motifs. The contoured edge of this tray is in Amaranth. The Movement belt of this Office Table offers five drawers of identical depth, assembled with Dovetails. The first, in the center, is wider than the other four, distributed in pairs on either side. The fronts of these drawers are in Geometric Curls in Cubes. These Marqueteries, which are also found on the sides of the Cabinet, are underlined by threads of tinted wood forming frames, and giving the illusion of a composition with only three drawers. The latter are provided with Bronze keyholes and locks in working order, all original. The Cabinet is supplied with its three keys, which are current. Note that the drawer at the top right is partially compartmentalized. The rear face is embellished with a pretty Herringbone Veneer, allowing this desk to be imagined both against a wall and in the middle of a room. The set rests on four Soberly Curved feet, Inlaid on the inside, and finished with Bronze Sabots. The sides as well as the bottoms of the drawers are in Oak. Finesse and Elegance are the Charming assets of this Small Office, which offers a Pleasant workspace conducive to Escape.
