Rare pair of sumptuous vegetable dishes from the Louis XVI period in sterling silver. Of typical shape for this end of the eighteenth century, they have magnificent grips in the form of florettes of cauliflower "au naturel". They bear the charge and discharge hallmarks for the year 1788 in Paris. The hallmark of master goldsmith is that of Nicolas Fauconnier, received master in Paris since 1785. This goldsmith and goldsmith's son, originally from Longwy worked for 15 years in the workshop of Charles Spriman, goldsmith since 1762 in the city of Mons and then in Paris from 1775. This pretty pair of vegetables is rather large and heavy. They weigh 2640 grams.
