"Louis XVI Style Secretaire, Napoleon III Period"
Louis XVI style secretaire, Second Empire period, in blackened pear wood with marquetry inlays decorated with foliage, flowers and covered pot draped on the lid, and decorated with quiver and foliage on the drawers. The falling bronzes and flowers have two patinas, gold and antique green, the antique green being taken up in the colors of the marquetry. Drop-leaf revealing a writing desk covered with Chartres blue velvet in very good condition, and four speckled maple drawers, and rosewood grip buttons. Secretaire resting on four top legs and topped with white Carrara marble. The drawer interiors (bottoms, sides and backs) are in oak. This piece of furniture is in perfect condition, the varnish with a buffer has been refilled by our cabinetmaker. Key provided.
