Agate-gold Cameo 19th

19th century oval cameo in gray agate, 750 thousandths (18K) gold setting. A young woman is shown in profile, dressed in the style of the 17th century. His features are fine and regular; the hair is raised in a curly bun adorned with a tiara.; she wears earrings; the dress with a gathered bust is embellished with 2 beaded motifs in a rounded garland joining a round brooch in their center. A large strawberry completes the outfit. The deep carving of the cameo is very fine; the delicate profile and the many details stand out particularly well against the gray agate background; the whole is highlighted by the yellow gold strapping.
