"Romantic Guitar Made In Mirecourt In 1823"
Romantic six-string guitar made in Mirecourt bearing a label from the dealer: “rue de Bussy, N°. 30, Faub. St.-Germain, / near the rue de Seine, in Paris. / ALDRIC, Luthier, / Makes violins, Viola, Cello and Guitar”. Handwritten inscription on the label: 1823. Spruce top lined with ebony and ivory fillets, rose decorated with the same decor. Lemon veneered spruce back. Lemon splints. Ebony veneered "8" shaped paddle head. Six wooden pegs. Ebony-veneered neck. Six-Peg Mustache Easel. Small scratches and wear from use, period strings remaining, original wooden case; Total length: 92.6 cm. Vibrating String Length: 25.5" Neck width at nut: 46mm. Guitar in very good original condition, never restored and in perfect playing condition. Model very similar to the one kept in the Mirecourt museum inv. 1997.3.1 and branded "PETITJEAN L'AINE".
