The Pauly & C. Manufacture | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano, is an artistic Murano glassworks founded more than one hundred and forty years ago. Its name comes from the merger in 1919 between Pauly & C., founded in 1902, and Compagnia di Venezia et Murano, founded in 1866. The company also incorporates the brand of the historic MVM Cappellin & C, a company acquired in 1932 together with drawings and catalogues. In 1990 Pauly & C. | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano has also acquired the Toso Vetri glassworks from Arte. Two generations of master glassmakers were trained in its glassworks, some of whom, after learning the art of glass and developing their qualities, at different times, separated from it to found their own glassworks, including some of the main glass brands of Murano like Barovier, Seguso and Toso. The historic headquarters of Pauly & C in the "Palazzo Bianca Cappello" has closed its doors. Fortunately, thanks to four glass companies, the historic "Pauly & C" brand will not disappear from Venice. The Pauly factory has produced, over time, pieces for the royal houses of Italy, Russia, Morocco, Egypt and other important figures.
