Kilim or Gashghaï wedding blanket Iran, wool, 1950-60. Good condition.Iranian weaving made in two parts. Supple texture.
These weavings were made by Gashghai women on the occasion of ceremonies, tribal festivals, nowruz (Iranian New Year) or weddings, hence their name 'wedding blanket'. The ethnic and rustic side of these creations shows an authentic and artistic know-how. Very 'deco' on the wall, on a sofa but also on the floor with an anti-slip.
