Jean Dessès, born Jean Dimitre Virginie, was a fashion designer, born of Greek parents in Alexandria, Egypt, on August 6, 1904 and died in August 1970. He owned one of the most important fashion houses in Paris from 1937 to 1968. Its models are characterized by generous square, dart, point and sweetheart necklines extending deep into the back, giant details such as collars, turn-ups or wide-banded cuffs.
