"18th Century Inlaid Children's Secretary Stamped Gilbert"
Superb etrare small child's secretary from the 18th century in mahogany. This secretary rests on legs with canted sides, it opens in front by a door in the lower part surmounted by a flap simulating in its upper part a drawer front. Inside there are small drawers and a shelf. The whole is topped with a marble ringed with a bronze gallery. The front and sides of the cabinet are entirely veneered and covered with a marquetry decorated with flowers, of great finesse. The secretary bears the stamp of André-Louis GILBERT on the right rear upright, born in Paris in 1746 and received Master in 1774. High quality work in excellent condition, rare piece of furniture in its dimensions.
