Albert Coste (1896-1985), Bathers, 1925, print, woodcut, 32 x 24.5 cm, signed lower right. Three small tears on the upper edge. Born in Marseilles in 1896, Albert Coste joined the School of Fine Arts in 1909. In 1919 he moved to Paris and entered the studio of Fernand Cormon (1845-1924). He settled in Aix-en-Provence in 1923, and became a professor at the city's School of Fine Arts in 1935. In 1952 he created the decor for the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence, building built by the architect Fernand Pouillon (1912-1986).
