Born in Paris in 1921, Roger Quintaine began exhibiting in 1942, mainly at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris, of which he is a member. He also exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Terres Latines and the Salon de Peinture française at the Ile-de-France museum in Sceaux. His favorite subjects are mainly views of Venice and its lagoon, Brittany and the Camargue. He used to say “For me painting looks like a musical score, with its harmonies, its pauses and its sighs”.
