Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was a student at the Brussels Academy and the School of Fine Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris obtaining an honorable mention in 1904. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS worked mainly in France, painting marines, views of ports and quays of the Seine in Paris. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was particularly sensitive to the atmosphere of the small fishing ports that he paints with a precise realism. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS reports from a stay in Holland landscapes where he plays lyrically light and water.
