Boats in the port of Dordrecht, oil on wood dimensions 70 cm x 99 cm, with the carved wooden frame 84 cm x 113 cm, signed Jan van Os on the boat, Holland 18th century. Jan van Os is a Dutch painter born February 23, 1744 in Middleharnis (Netherlands) he was a pupil of Aert Schouman in The Hague, in 1773 he was registered in the brotherhood of painters of this city where he died in 1808. After a career as a marine painter, he specialized in painting still lifes and flowers.
