"Ceremonial Desk In Rosewood Veneer, Louis XV Style - Nineteenth"
Flat desk on all sides in the Louis XV style, with structure in Rosewood Veneer forming a series of harmoniously arranged nets. The generously sized workspace is upholstered in genuine Red leather. Its size explains its composition in three elements, whose junctions are skilfully made almost imperceptible by friezes on a hard background. This precious dressing is also lined with Fleurons d'angles and bordered with Golden friezes. This tray is framed by a large brass rod shaped with Groove and "Bec de Corbin", and each of its four corners is adorned with a carved Bronze crest. This piece of furniture, with a modestly scalloped belt, opens with three drawers equipped with original keyholes, their current keys, and, for two of them, finely cut bronze pull handles. The one in the center, which is more streamlined, is also shallower than those on the sides, offering storage 9.5 cm high. To create symmetry and a pleasant visual, the "back" of this Middle Office ready to receive offers a facade similar to that of the front, but the drawers are dummy. The set rests on four curved legs embellished over their entire height by Bronzes in Busts of women, which taper into pearls and foliage up to the Clogs which adorn the feet. The interior of the drawers is in Oak. We will appreciate the elegance of this ceremonial desk as well as its warm leather, whose slight traces of wear give it more charm and character than they detract from it.
