"Small Slope Desk In Blackened Pear Tree, Napoleon III Period - Early 19th Century"
Small Bureau de Pente, otherwise known as "on the back of a donkey", in Poirier, covered with inlays of nets and Brass motifs. This piece of furniture opens with a flap whose facade is made up around the perimeter of brass rods, there are two slightly spaced nets. The interior of this frame is embellished with Arabesque motifs of foliage and chiseled flowers, some parts are in brass, others in mother-of-pearl. This Furniture discovers a Rosewood interior, with at the bottom three small Drawers blocked by a stop, surmounted by a Niche taking the entire Width. The Tablet features Elegant Red Leather with Gold Vignettes. Below, a Drawer composed of two Nets in the circumference, as well as Patterns in the center in the same style as the flap. Their Locks are Original and their Keys reported have been adjusted. The sides of the Desk, arranged in the same way as the front, have a Double-net matching the shape of the piece of furniture. The upper part of this property is fully protected in the corners by quarter-round brass rods. This Set is Topped by an Openwork Gallery and features the same double brass net that makes the identity of this Slope Office. It rests on four Turned Sheath feet composed of Grooves, at the top of these are Brass elements. Rings of the same metal encircle the upper and lower part of these Uprights. These are connected by a spacer with movements, to the central circular part. The interior of the drawers is in mahogany, and the flap can, once opened, rest on the belt drawer for more security. This Sloping Desk, characterized by its Brass elements and its Blackened Wood which set it apart from the Ordinary, will delight anyone looking for a work space with an interesting volume and little bulk.
