Posterior binding of tan half-calf with corners, smooth spine adorned with fat gilt fillets, double thin gilt fillets, tan morocco title label, gilt title. Rare first edition. First printing of 25 (out of 25) engraved plates (including double-page). The iconography is completed by an engraved frontispiece signed Gaetano Testolini Vicent. Nice print on strong paper. Text in French followed by its translation (with separate title page) in Italian. ''It is to Scamozzi that we owe the rediscovery of these plates after the disappearance of Palladio who had never published them; only a part was born in London in 1732.'' (Kapandji). Binding with rubbing and superficial losses. Dull angles. Weakness affecting the bits (remaining strong, however). Crease affecting the first endpaper. Foxing in the body of the book (mainly marginal). Tiny perforation in the margin of the preliminary sheets. Tasks affecting the bottoms of notebooks of the boards. Very clear angular ring affecting the boards. Which, however, remain in a good state of preservation.
