Pastel portrait of a little girl holding an apple in her hands. Dressed in a blouse in light tones with thin blue stripes and topped with a black lace cap, the artist gently depicts this child with a gaze full of benevolence and tenderness.
The quality of the drawing gives the eyes and facial expression a touching realism. The pastel is signed lower left E.Carpentier and dated 1858, it is in good condition, a trace of moisture on the right edge.
