This beautiful work, very decorative, reflects well the most typical landscape of the 18th century in the middle of the Rococo period.
The Arcadian description of the landscape leads us to the production of the studio of Francesco Zuccarelli, who after having worked in Florence for Paolo Anesi, from whom he assimilated a remarkable technique, settled in Venice, and here completed his career as an extraordinary rococo landscape painter. .
His painting, like that of his Venetian contemporaries Canaletto, Giuseppe Zais and Antonio Diziani, is particularly appreciated abroad, especially by English collectors who have come to Italy. This small canvas comes from an English collection and in England it was perfectly accompanied by a beautiful rococo frame with an attributive plaque.
