Bronze group representing a dog and a kid by Alfred Barye (Barye Fils) .
The two friends have fun around a drinking trough .
Group with brown patina .
Signature of the sculptor " A.BARYE. F" on the terrace in naturalistic bronze , richly chiselled .
Old edition cast .
19th century period .
Very good state of preservation and patina .

Alfred Barye (1839-1895)

Louis Alfred Barye, known as " Le Fils " , or Alf Barye , born in Paris on January 21, 1839 and died in Paris on May 13 , 1895 .
He is a renowned French sculptor .
Alfred Barye was a student of his father , the sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye  .
His work includes animal bronzes as well as orientalist subjects .
He signs his works under the name of BARYE " Le Fils " to differentiate him from his father .
He exhibited at the Salon from 1864 to 1882 .
