the millennial activity of the two largest blower companies of glass 'Phoenician glass' and 'Mdina glass' persists even today. The two factories differ by the colors of the glasses and by the various shapes of the objects: but the fabrications have one thing in common, the glasses are very colorful and very dense. These are heavy objects (a ball 10 cm in diameter weighs approximately 500 g) At Mdina glass, as at Phoenician glass, you can witness the different stages of the manufacture of objects, observing the delicate work of the glassblowers who, from the glowing ball arrive at the final shape, after adding metal to sublimate the colors. Then comes the step of cooling the objects in an oven, the temperature of which gradually drops to avoid any thermal shock and bursting of the objects. Color marbling is sometimes encrusted with gold or silver.
