Biography:
Pietro Barzanti(1842-1881) was an Italian sculptor from Firenze. He had an important workshop in the late 19th century. Like many Italian sculptors, he made small replicas of famous antique sculptures as souvenirs for tourists doing the European ‘Grand Tour’ in the nineteenth century. He also made sculptures after some renowned sculptors such as Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850) ou Johann Heinrik van Danncker (1758-1841).
