Small desk with cylinder and mechanism in the Louis XVI style, in Mahogany and Mahogany veneer with inlays of nets, rods and quarter round brass. Its bright pink marble top from the Pyrenees is bordered by an openwork brass gallery in the shape of alternating small and large circles. It opens with 3 small drawers in the upper part, locked by the opening mechanism of the large drawer, simulating 3 drawers, in the lower part. It opens with a cylinder locked in the same way as the previous drawers and gives access to a storage space for inkwells and writing pens. This open upper part, it is therefore possible to unfold the curved part below opening on a raspberry red leather refurbished with vignettes and golden patterns at the corners, which rests on the open drawer. The desk is adorned on the edge of the sides with striped brass plates all along. The sides are trimmed with inlaid brass fillets and quarter rounds. It rests on 4 turned feet, molded, ringed top and bottom and with brass grooves, ending in molded hooves.
Period: Mid-nineteenth century.
Perfect condition after restoration, stripping and waxed patina in our workshop.
