Sublime antique medallion in ebonite and solid silver frame pierced, chiseled and engraved from the 19th century. Medallion carved in low relief like the cameos of an antique scene in ebonite, a hard material resulting from the vulcanization of rubber with a high proportion of sulfur invented in 1838. The solid silver frame is of rare quality of execution. Decor of mermaids interspersed with staples, foliage and acanthus leaves. A mascaron in pediment. Bears hallmarks of solid English silver. Napoleon III period around 1850. Delivery 8 euros in France, 15 euros in the EU and 25 euros rest of the world.
