Pair of quality armchairs in molded and carved natural wood in an eventful shape. Resting on four curved legs, these armchairs are very finely sculpted with foliage and flowers on the crosspieces of the seat, the uprights and crosspieces of the backrest. The armrest consoles are whiplashed. Stamped Bauve Louis XV Period Usual restorations, modern trim H. 86 x W. 62 x D. 50 cm Mathieu Bauve or Debauve was a carpenter who became a master in 1754. Died around 1786, his widow continued his work for some time. He mainly produced Louis XV works for which he excelled. These seats are of very good quality as written by Pierre Kjellberg in the book “Le Meubles Français du XVIIIe siècle”.
