"Hippism: Surprising Bronze Boutoir With Bells, 18 Or 19th Century"
Superb equestrian collector's item, a Marshal's boutoir from another culture, possibly Indo-Persian. The tool is powerful, the long forged shank opens with two chamfers on a blade of good thickness, flat and short, almost square, raised edges, with a very sharp cutting edge. Ergonomic cast bronze double handle is designed to protect the craftsman's hand, which has a thumb rest in the shape of a shoed horse's hoof. And, very curiously, the double handle ends with two bells, which were to punctuate the work, and distract the animal's anxiety.... Dimensions: 30cm x 8cm. Weight: 0.7kg.
Spectacular ancient object.
