"Silver Breastplate. Island Of Timor. Indonesia"
Large silver pectoral disc from the island of Timor, Indonesia.
The jewel, worn by men during ceremonies, is hammered with a decoration in its center representing celestial bodies.
Very good state. A slightly engraved old inscription seems to indicate the name of a former owner.
Provenance: Maine Durieu Gallery, Paris.
