"Chest Of Drawers, Transition Style Louis XV / Louis XVI - Late 19th Century"
Jigsaw Chest of Drawers in Veneered Wood depicting a superb Landscape Decor, fitted with a magnificent Original Veined White Carrara Marble. This Marble, with cut sides and projections, marries the movements of the chest of drawers and benefits from a thin groove on its periphery. The Façade, also provided with shapes with Projections, presents two Large Drawers decorated with a Marquetry representing a Country Scene in Mahogany and Light Wood. The different species of wood bring many shades to this landscape illustrating ruins contemplated by a couple and a man on horseback. Each of the scenes is framed with mahogany wire. Each Drawer is embellished with Beaded Ring Pull Handles and Bronze Entrances. Below, a low crosspiece cut out in its central part is lined with a Bronze with Volutes decorated with Flowers and Scrolls. This chest of drawers is supported by curved mahogany legs with canted sides trimmed with three inlays of light wood fillet. In the upper part, the front feet are enriched with a Bronze drop, as well as a Crowbar of the same alloy in the lower part. This Elegant Commode will invite itself into an Interior where the Quality of its Marquetry will be noticed.
