"Old Chest Folk Art Auvergne 17th Frieze Rosette Haute Epoque Carved Wood"
Rare engraved and carved wooden box from the 17th century, decorated with friezes of complex rosettes and engraved rows. The box is worked on 4 sides, the last shows the unfinished preparatory drawing. The 3 hinges seem original, the mechanism of the lock is missing inside, the 4 ball feet possibly reported, old traces of xylophagous insects treated since. Beautiful Auvergnat work of popular art. Total dimensions 37cm x 19cm x 16.5cm
