"Pair Of Ormolu-mounted Sèvres Porcelaine Blue-ground Vases And Covers, Circa 1880"
Pair of porcelain vases mounted on gilded bronze. The front is decorated with mythological scenes representing the god of love Eros in beautiful gardens on a cobalt blue background. Eros is depicted young with his bow and arrows. His arrows are not used to kill, they are used to spread love among living beings. He is also represented with a violin to symbolize life and joy. Our vases are signed by the painter Emile Grisard and the cutlery bears Sèvres marks. The back is adorned with large romantic landscapes. Bronze rockery handles.
