Large bronze barometer in the Louis XIV style, late 19th century, with the effigy of the "Sun King" represented in a carouche surrounded by cherubs. The dial has a black background and the openwork needle indicates the state of the atmospheric weather on enamel cartouches, ranging from Grande Pluie to Beau Fixe. Inscribed in an enamel cartouche "Barometer suiv. Torricelli". In finely chased bronze, the mechanism is supported by a tasselled cord and a passementerie ribbon
