Biography House of Sitzendorf
Porcelain from Sitzendorf has a long history as one of the oldest and most valuable German porcelain brands. The first porcelain factory was established in 1760 and it remains in operation today. There are several distinct periods in the history of factory management. The porcelain factory was established in Sitzendorf in 1850 by Wilhelm Liebmann and continued until a fire destroyed the factory building in 1858. The factory was later rebuilt and reopened under the management of the Voigt brothers , Alfred and Carl. They run the factory until 1896, when Albert Schonau takes over. Sitzendorf porcelain made before 1932 is considered the most valuable by collectors.
