Oil on canvas by Jules Joëts from 1926. Studied at the School of Fine Arts in his city in Saint-Omer then at the Decorative Arts in Paris From 1908 he got into the habit of presenting important pieces each year at the Salon des French artists. Obtains the national prize at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1914 for his painting l'Enterrement de sept heures, purchased by the state. In 1916 he was appointed painter of the armies after the war befriended Maximilien Luce, James Ensor, and especially Georges Rouault whose poems he illustrated. In 1929 appointed curator of the museum of Saint-Omer. Measures with frame 74 x63
