Portrait of a Nurse and a Baby, 17th Century Rare and unusual English school portrait Large 17th century English school portrait of a nurse and a nursing baby, oil on canvas. Good quality circa 1680 half-length portrait of a nurse seated half-length near a draped curtain nursing a baby. The child would have been the son or daughter of a noble family who exceptionally commissioned the portrait while being fed. Has been professionally cleaned and relined and restored.
