White stone mascaron, Renaissance style, 19th century
This mascaron is carved in white limestone rock like tuffeau type, and revisits a decorative design in fashion during Renaissance. It figures a faun wearing a mane from where two pointy ears surface. Eyes, shaped in spiral, control a contorted face sticking its tongue out.
Excellent condition, darker patina on some parts (see pictures). A suspension ring on the back. Weight: 1,450 kg
