DIEPPE CHESS SET NAPOLEON I Exceptional ivory chess set from Dieppe early 19th century. The red king represents NAPOLEON I with pawns representing the grunts of the Empire. Note that the red bishops are characters with wigs and that the white pieces remain typical of the end of the 18th century. The ivory tree has therefore just changed the king and the red pawns to pay homage to the Emperor. Kings: 75 mm, Queens: 72 mm, pawns: 55 mm In 42 years in the business, I have already had Dieppois games several times, but this is the first time I have seen one with L'Empereur. the Dieppois games which were very artisanal, this explains the small differences that may exist between the pawns.
