He began his apprenticeship by attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice for three years, then in Milan at the Accademia Brera for three more.
He was first noticed by the general public when he won the Principe Umberto prize, the first in a long series of awards. In 1946, he won the Venice Quadrennial Prize, in 1946 the Naviglio Prize, in 1950 the Ines Fila Prize, in 1955 the Garzanti Prize, in 1958 he won the National Sculpture Committee Prize, in 1964 he received the Palette Cadorina for painting.
He exhibits his works in Milan, Venice, Rome and abroad in cities like Paris, New York, Sidney, Barcelona.
He moved to Collalto in the last years of his life and died in Soligo on March 14, 1966.
